Abstract
  • A home-school collaborative approach is presented that is based on a new role for parents of preschoolers in special education—formal participation in their child's assessment. The rationale that stimulated the development of this approach, the instrument called The Five Ps (Parent/Professional Preschool Performance Profile) that involves parents in the assessment process, and the way the role of the social worker has changed are discussed.
